🌇Thank you, ⁦@katelamble⁩ and panellists: a superbly insightful discussion of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry report. So much for us in construction and regulation to learn including, as you note, whether profit and safety can be effectively balanced.

A reminder of a report I did in June: there are millions and millions of square metres of the ACM used on Grenfell on buildings globally - much of it in jurisdictions which have done nothing to look for it post-fire https://t.co/wL1AK4LjFe

A passing thought that there are people out there who will be reading the inquiry report and quietly knowing they were on the right side of history, even though it made them unpopular, cost them opportunities and saw their views dismissed. If faced with the choice, be like them

🚨 Grenfell Inquiry report 🚨 - "Complacent" govt "well aware" of risk of cladding disaster but failed to act - "Systematic dishonesty" by product manufacturers "very significant reason" for fire - "Chronic and systemic" fire safety failures by tower's social landlords

The final report from Grenfell Tower inquiry found the disaster was the culmination of “decades of failure” by governments and others in the construction industry. It sets out a ‘path to disaster’ stretching back to the early 1990s and criticises organisations at every level.
