A few very lucky Year 7 students visited Shirehampton High Street this afternoon to discover more about the variety of jobs available. We visited Highcroft Vets, Goodman and Lily Estate Agents and Manga Pharmacy. Many thanks to @WorksBristol and the businesses involved.

Year 10’s visited a live construction site this morning and discovered more about the vast range of trades and careers available. Many thanks to Overbury Construction and Bristol Works for arranging this.

Selected Year 8 students attended the launch of Future Ready today. This is a 3-year project funded by Bristol Works and WECA. Students took part in lots of activities and are looking forward to some trips and visits later this year!

Rainbow's O.G. BUNGLE, played by John 'voice of K-9' Leeson in 1972, was a nightmare. He had the thousand yard stare of someone who had seen... things. Regenerating after one season, and seemingly forgotten by the cast, it's no wonder @Bob_Fischer named him 'The War Bungle'.

Oasis Academy Brightstowe held a careers fair for all year groups today. We witnessed lots of positive conversations between students and visitors about future career ideas. Many thanks to all the businesses that supported us today. #Careersfayre #teambrightstowe

Year 7 would like to say a massive THANK YOU to Dave Cohen for the talk on Tuesday. Dave was the songwriter for the comedy songs from the Horrible Histories. The students were able to ask questions and even wrote a song together!

Today our students enjoyed a masterclass about Life in Space hosted by Natalie from the National Space Academy, funded by the UK Space Agency. Students looked at chemical reactions, effects of pressure on the human body, and adaptations that are needed to survive in space.

Brightstowe received a visit from Santa and his elves today to deliver gift bags and chocolate for our students. This has all been donated by the generous staff at Oxford Instruments @OxInst and we cannot thank them enough🎅🧑‍🎄🤶

We were delighted to see our students enjoying their Christmas meal today. Thank you to our catering team and all the volunteers for their hard work in making this such a special occasion.
