QICN annual meeting had some really inspirational talks Thursday. Particularly great to see a handbook for community nurse consultants to increase their role recognition and vital impact. Iβve been lucky to work alongside a CNN within the palliative care team and felt inspired π

One of my proudest moments was receiving my QN award. Completed a shift yesterday with DNβs to support them through their never ending demand and capacity issues and absolutely loved it. Able to use my transferable skills from frailty whilst keeping up my DN clinical skills. π
Huge congrats to Livewell's District Nurses who have been recognised by the The Queen's Nursing Institute ππ½ππ½ Read more here β‘ https://t.co/4iIJacwH7M

Less DNs = less skills = less money BUT = more incidents, unsafe practice and deaths. When will people learn? itβs already been done and resulted in unsafe practice
@JillYGld @wesstreeting It's scary to think some areas are considering alternatives to district nurses to cut costs and having instead "community charge nurses".

This morning we declared a Critical Incident due significant and rising demand for hospital care. If you have a very serious or life-threatening emergency, we are here for you, but otherwise, if you need urgent care, we ask you please to call NHS 111 or use NHS 111 online.

Today feels like the end of an era π₯² The first photo was 7 years ago where I started working from this base, I have gained so many friendships. I feel so lucky to have been supported by an amazing team to get to where I am in my nursing career. DN will always have my heart. β₯οΈ

A year ago today I graduated with a Pgd in District Nursing. Itβs bittersweet handing my notice in, to be taking a step away from DN and embarking on a new journey in the community in the new year, in a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner role. Huge challenges ahead β¨

This is just heartbreaking to see. All that hard work, and then imagine struggling to get a job at the end. β€οΈβπ©Ή
