QICN annual meeting had some really inspirational talks Thursday. Particularly great to see a handbook for community nurse consultants to increase their role recognition and vital impact. I’ve been lucky to work alongside a CNN within the palliative care team and felt inspired 💙

Queen’s Nursing Institute announces new name

One of my proudest moments was receiving my QN award. Completed a shift yesterday with DN’s to support them through their never ending demand and capacity issues and absolutely loved it. Able to use my transferable skills from frailty whilst keeping up my DN clinical skills. 💙

To ensure timely discharge for patients in hospitals, more investment is needed for community services. Older people are particularly at risk of poorer outcomes if kept in hospital when medically fit - @JKDhesi

Less DNs = less skills = less money BUT = more incidents, unsafe practice and deaths. When will people learn? it’s already been done and resulted in unsafe practice

Today feels like the end of an era 🥲 The first photo was 7 years ago where I started working from this base, I have gained so many friendships. I feel so lucky to have been supported by an amazing team to get to where I am in my nursing career. DN will always have my heart. ♥️

A year ago today I graduated with a Pgd in District Nursing. It’s bittersweet handing my notice in, to be taking a step away from DN and embarking on a new journey in the community in the new year, in a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner role. Huge challenges ahead ✨

This is just heartbreaking to see. All that hard work, and then imagine struggling to get a job at the end. ❤️‍🩹
