At the time, we were developing “ALESTE 2” for the Mega Drive, but it wasn't a port of the MSX2 ver.—it was a completely different game. We pitched that game to SEGA, but the project couldn't get started. So we pivoted and took it to another publisher, and the result was “MUSHA.”

MUSHA for Mega Drive/Genesis (Compile/1990) Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor, a great vertical shooter in the Aleste series. The initial plan was to port Aleste 2 (MSX2/8-bit). But w/ MD's 16-bit power, made more sense to do this new one. #武者アレスタ #MegaDriveMonday #STG
