You don't need to rush to the pediatrician for those things. They won't be labeled as excused, but they are allowed. Excused absences are accompanied by a note.

Excused absence vs. Unexcused Absence..."What do you mean?!" It doesn't mean that we don't believe your child needs to be home. Think of it as an 'allowed' absence such as, they have a fever, they are vomiting, they are feeling under the weather etc. Six are allowed each term.
