Shortly after noon today, the Mecklenburg County Courthouse and the streets surrounding it (3rd St, E 4th St, S McDowell St, and the ramp from 277 to 4th E 4th St) will start to close, in anticipation of our active shooter training.

We are heartbroken to share the news of the sudden passing of Officer Richard Hardy. Officer Hardy joined MCSO in July 2023. During this difficult time, we ask that you keep Officer Hardy's family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers.

The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Response Team will be conducting a scheduled training today. Their uniform consists of a green top and green pants. They are not to be mistaken for other law enforcement agencies who are operating in the area.
