Apparently I need to add to this. Don’t ask if pregnancy has been “enjoyable”. Don’t refer to “beached whales”, even in an attempt to empathize. If you’ve never been pregnant, don’t even claim to understand what it’s like, especially if you’re mansplaining.
PSA time! I can’t believe I feel compelled to write this (all of this is prompted by actual behavior of strangers toward me), but here are some ways you should never react to a pregnant person:.

8) Offer unsolicited advice of any kind, no matter how well intended. And finally: 9) If a pregnant person seems at all uninterested in talking about their pregnancy, there is probably a good reason. Either change the subject or drop the conversation. Rant over.

7) Tell them that they’re a, “strong woman”. 8) Make weight-related comments of any kind. This applies even to seemingly ‘nice’ comments like, “you haven’t gained much weight in your face”.
