McNeese was well represented at today’s ULS Board of Supervisors meeting. Congratulations to Morgan Turpin for her confirmation as our Dean of the College of Business, and to our SGA students for their exemplary presentation for the student self-assessed fees election request.

Thank you to the Office of Student Services for hosting the fall semester Late Night Breakfast. Students had to chance to enjoy a hot breakfast served by some key campus administrators. This event brings a little motivation to our students leading into finals.

Thank you to Mr. Reed Mendelson and friends for their generous support of the McNeese Banners Series during their annual holiday party. The passion for McNeese’s success extends beyond the boundaries of the physical campus and is infused in the fabric of Southwest Louisiana.

The Executive Leadership Team is back from the Thanksgiving holiday ready to finish the calendar year strong! Today, our university’s facilities director presented a campus projects update. The improvements will serve our student body and advance the visual profile of our campus.

I decided to make a trip to Rowdy’s Dining Hall to wish the students and employees there a Happy Thanksgiving before everyone leaves for the holiday break. Everyone is excited for the time off, which is needed to build energy for the final push to end the fall semester.

Our senior visual arts students hosted their Senior Thesis Exhibition, showcasing projects students have been working on for months. Congratulations to all of the visual arts students who are graduating in December. I know you will use your talents to bring joy to the world!

I applaud our Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Michael Buckles, for representing McNeese at the State of Education luncheon hosted by the Chamber SWLA. I am grateful that we have a community with a deep interest in the educational landscape of SWLA.

This morning, I stopped by CL&SS to be a reviewer for the “Resumania” program hosted by the Career and Professional Development Services Department. Kelci was one of the students I worked with, showing her strategies to make her resume more attractive and engaging.

SGA President Lianne Montelibano and I enjoyed meeting with Armund Wilson to interview for the Teen Report on KPLC. Armund is a junior at the Career & Technical Education Center and Washington-Marion Magnet High School. #GeauxPokes
