Disney passing on the Ben Solo movie, while also greenlighting a Mandalorian and Grogu movie, shows how creatively out of touch the company is right now. Even the biggest Rise of Skywalker haters (me) want this movie.

Inside Warner Bros. Studios after Paramount takes over
The Trump administration reportedly really wants Paramount to acquire Warner Bros. “Warner really needs to think really hard about the odds of success getting the deal cleared with players outside of Paramount Skydance,” says a senior Trump administration official. (Source:

CBS news networks & programs (like 60 Minutes) have already become more right-wing since they got control of them. They cancelled left-wing shows like Colbert to appease Trump, and almost certainly would do the same for WB (Last Week Tonight).

Doomers looking for a worst-case scenario for the Warner Bros. sale, the Ellisons (Paramount Skydance) are probably the worst. Larry Ellison is deeply embedded in the Trump administration, and buying WB would give him control of CNN.
SCOOP: Paramount Skydance boss David Ellison has bid $24 a share for Warner Bros. Discovery – a mega-deal worth $57 billion that was nevertheless rejected as takeover negotiations between the media giants heat up; it marks the third straight time Ellison has been rebuffed as

We are inches away from a world where Dune Part 3 and Man of Tomorrow get released exclusively on Netflix streaming 💀
Warner Bros has announced that they are now officially considering acquisition offers. They will launch a “comprehensive review of strategic alternatives” for a whole or partial sale of the company.

Tron Ares was always going to flop; it only got made because of the new Tron Disney World ride, but Leto was absolutely a huge factor. Any other actor would have added at least $20-$30 million. He's not at JK Rowling levels of poisoning the well, but he is up there.
An anonymous top talent agent on #TronAres flopping at the box office "You could have had Ryan Gosling, it wasn’t going to work. No one asked for this ... If you say, ‘Tron: Ares is good, we just needed a different actor,’ you’re deluding yourself" (via @THR)

And just to be clear, this is not the only issue, obviously MCU movies with 0 connections to Disney+ like Fantastic Four are still underperforming, but I think its a large factor for movies like Thunderbolts and Brave New World.

It doesn't matter that, in reality, the Disney+ stories have never affected the movies; people think they do because they see the same characters in both. People then avoid the movies because they never watched the Disney+ show that the character was in.

This is what people often misunderstand about the "MCU homework" problem. The Disney+ shows have never impacted a film's story, but general audiences are ALWAYS going to think they do when they see this character from a movie last appeared on a Disney+ show they didnt watch.
@McBDirect The characters should be allowed to show up in movies though. But their stories shouldn’t have any major impact on the wider storyline of the films.

In hindsight, it has become clear that the Netflix Marvel Television system was more beneficial to the MCU than the Disney+ system. The TV series should all connect, exist within the MCU, but tell their own separate story. Very loose connections to the movies only.
Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum says a potential #JessicaJones revival "maybe [coming] sooner than you think."

#WonderMan looks great, I think this is the exact kind of show Marvel Studios needs right now. First “television show set in the MCU”, rather than the normal “MCU television show”.

Interesting choice to debut the first look at a new black suit in heavy red lighting, making it look extremely similar to the old red suit? I don't think normal people are gonna realize the suit color changed.

#Peacemaker finale was bad in a way that made the whole Season 2 look worse in retrospect. The emotional moments and revelations in the finale felt unearned and rushed. Felt like the season was building towards something bigger, and all I am left with is "that was it?"

I have absolutely no idea where the #Peacemaker finale is going, and that's pretty cool. Anything could happen

Marvel Studios not making 'Doctor Strange 3' into a group event film (like Civil War) that sets up Doomsday/Secret Wars has to be the biggest missed opportunity in this new saga. I don't know how this didn't get prioritized.
AVENGERS: SECRET WARS is now the only #MCU movie slated for 2027, which eliminates the chances of DOCTOR STRANGE 3 releasing before the Multiverse Saga ends.

Fallon is an empty vessel puppeteered by the industry and mega corps. Always has been, but it's never been more obvious. Hilariously, he will get taken out by the Trump administration as quickly as the rest of late-night.
Jimmy Fallon says he plans to "keep my head down" and avoid getting overly political on "The Tonight Show": “We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that’s really the way our show works. Our monologues are kind of the same that we’ve been doing since
