Staff gained practical skills in: 🔸 Formulating plant tea 🔸 Selecting suitable plant materials 🔸 Step-by-step preparation and application across crops Plant tea boosts soil fertility, supports beneficial micro-organisms, and reduces dependence on chemical fertilizers.

METGE, together with the Bungokho Rural Development Center and the Mount Elgon Agroforestry Communities Cooperative Enterprise, has completed a hands-on training on plant tea—an organic, low-cost bio-fertilizer made from locally available plant materials. @sizeofwales

This momentum builds on our successful work in Ganzo Mayiyi, where METGE has already restored 108 hectares along the park boundary under the Tree Planting for Improved Livelihoods (TPIL) Project.

As part of the training, farmers also received vegetable seedlings, helping households improve their nutrition while creating opportunities to boost incomes through the sale of surplus produce.

With support from @AdmiralLife ,farmers from four community groups in Kinyofu,Masira ,Bulambuli District have received hands-on training in Sustainable Land Management(SLM) to address the growing challenges of land degradation,and declining agricultural productivity @sizeofwales

This has expanded access to quality tree seedlings and promoting sustainable land restoration across the district. @sizeofwales

Sowing of Seeds at Algoi Community Tree Nursery Site in Algoi Sub-county, Bukedea District. The Nursery site raises 90,000 seedlings annually. The nursery also serves neighboring areas, including Kachumbala Sub-county and Kongunga Town Council. @sizeofwales

In collaboration with Stanbic Bank Uganda, we carried out a tree planting exercise at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital to enhance the hospital’s greenery. This reflects our continued commitment to climate change mitigation and adaptation within our communities.@sizeofwales

New growth is emerging in Mount Elgon National Park, Ganzo-Mayiyi in Bulambuli District, where we have successfully restored 108 hectares in the park. Through a community-driven restoration initiative, life is coming back to degraded areas of the Park. @sizeofwales
