Clarksdale, Miss., setting of record-breaking horror film #Sinners, didn't have a theater. #MaynardAlum Aallyah Wright (@aallyahpatrice), Clarksdale native/journalist @CapitalBNews, helped bring Sinners home and interviewed cast/crew of the @proximitymedia blockbuster.
I’m profoundly grateful that Clarksdale chose me — and that I chose y’all. Thank you for trusting me to tell our stories and amplifying your voices. Thank you, steering committee, for choosing me to interview the cast and crew of Sinners 🤯

Making waves and bringing #Sinners to Clarksdale, #MaynardAlum Aallyah Wright on the film’s setting getting a screening on May 29 for @CapitalBNews!.
Who knew that my initial tweet about the open letter started by Tyler Yarbrough—followed by a story I wrote that quickly went viral—would become the catalyst for screenings of Sinners in my hometown, Clarksdale, on May 29-31.
