To me the most shocking part of Shannon Harris returning as DC head coach - it appears he’ll serve as Tennessee State’s OC this fall as well. I had my doubts about him burning the candle at both ends- but if there’s anything we learned in 2025- don’t bet against this man 🛡️🆙

The spring football topic that consistently gets the most engagement is expansion. There’s a reason for that. Football fans drool over new cities, teams, mascots, uniforms. It’s a fantasy most can only live thru video games. The buzz leading up to #UFL2026 will be palpable.
@MattyFreshTV And do we really believe boise will provide a bigger pop for football, they are going to have to start from scratch and they only have 9 months to make it right, like I just don’t know if the benefit is worth the risk, why not go back to Seattle if you make this decision.

First off, I’m devastated for the fans of those 4 teams. But the writing was on the wall. The XFL markets, brand & vision have always been superior. It was just a matter of time before the USFL’s flawed blueprint bit the dust. Buckle up. #UFL2026 is back in the spotlight🍿

It is, but this is a special case… TSU is his alma mater so it’s a dream gig. I can’t get mad at Harris for staying loyal to Barlow either. Especially after Barlow did him the favor of letting him stay with DC for 3 months.

Since doing both jobs would be practically impossible, have to think this is the end for Shannon Harris in DC. What a ride. I’d be willing to bet Harris is the only coach in pro football history to win a championship with zero prior experience as a HC at any level. Godspeed.
NEW: D.C. Defenders interim head coach Shannon Harris has joined Tennessee State as OC/QBs coach, TSU head coach Reggie Barlow confirmed to me. Harris took over for Barlow as the Defenders' interim head coach days before the 2025 season began and led them to the UFL title.
