Lots in this paper which extends well beyond the mental health context. The discussion of the ‘doublethink’ in nursing driven partly by fear of litigation, issues in nurse education and great arguments about the impacts of uncritical digitalisation in nursing. Well worth a read!

Pleased to see this paper published online today! @Keirwales & I apply themes from Orwell’s 1984 to MH inpatient settings, arguing that restrictive practices esp for those with a personality disorder dx arise from dichotomous thinking & externalised fears: https://t.co/UwWj1qEhBR

Some really interesting findings in this report. Nurses showed the lowest level of positivity towards the statement ‘I look forward to using AI as part of my job’ amongst health professionals. We need to understand why this is if nurses are to benefit from these technologies 🤖

Our latest research shows the public and NHS staff, on balance, support the use of AI in the NHS, particularly for admin such as letter writing. But a minority are not yet convinced ⬇️ https://t.co/ZCnBcOskNA
