With March almost upon us, I figured it was a good time to post what I've been up to over the past several months. Here's a look at my most recent weather reel as I creep towards 5 years as a broadcast meteorologist. Full video:

Our station antenna tower was struck multiple times by some crazy-looking lightning strikes last night as several electric storms rolled through. Lightning is always crazy to see, but some of these images are wild!

We're seeing the coolest start to a morning in quite a while. Not a bad way to kick off the final day of the week!

The morning news team took part in a parallel parking challenge, after inspiration struck during a news story. Who did the best?! (Thanks @DannyNewTV and @ABC for the idea!) #funny #fun #parallelparking #parking #news #newsteam #anchor #weather #meteorologist #viral

Cloud cover is having a big impact on temperatures so far today. Bladen and Columbus County are in the upper 70s and lower 80s thanks to clouds, which we're nearing 90 degrees closer to the coast. Most spots should still climb to seasonable values today.

Beautiful start to the day above downtown Wilmington as the initial light of the 6:08 a.m. sunrise hits the clouds. We'll stay mostly dry through the early afternoon when a few sea breeze showers/storms gives way to evening storms from the west. One or two could hit severe level.

Here's a look at percent of the amount of rainfall typically expected over the course of the last 30 days. A lot of Texas is pushing 300% of average, but the circled area is literally off the chart - well more than 300% above average. Parts of NC aren't are also extremely high.

Quite the downpour right now in Lockwood Folly. You can see the cell on radar near the inlet between Holden Beach and Oak Island.

We're already seeing some spotty downpours towards the coast, with more activity possible this afternoon, especially well inland. There's a borderline chance of a strong storm across the western Cape Fear this evening, with a slightly better chance coming tomorrow.

Not expecting any tropical formation over the next 7 days, but something could be looming in the days beyond that. Outlook from the Climate Prediction Center highlighting an area in the Gulf for at least the chance of some activity. Tons of time to watch.

We've already seen 5"+of rain this month. We're inching closer to what we should have recorded through this point for the year. More rain chances into the weekend, with the heaviest amounts unfortunately falling across regions of NC which just saw flooding from Chantal.

We're in for another very hot afternoon. Heat Advisories go into effect later this morning, with air temperatures in the middle 90s and heat index values up to 105+ further inland. Those areas also have the best chance for a gusty storm, with a Marginal Risk of severe weather.

The heat and humidity is back in high gear today, following a couple of slightly more comfortable afternoons this weekend. It's around 5-13 degrees warmer than this time yesterday on our way to lower 90s and only an isolated shower.

Recorded some Good Morning Carolina shout outs on Friday during the 4th of July celebrations in Southport for an upcoming promo. They won't all make the final cut, so I figured I would share on here. Love meeting our awesome viewers!

Chantal dropped as much as 3"-4" locally, but soaked parts of the piedmonts west of Raleigh with totals surpassing 8" in some spots. Chantal is now a tropical depression and is pushing further away. So we'll see a return to typical summer-like pop up storms through the weekend.

Just my two cents on the deadly Texas flooding and the dialogue I’ve seen spreading in the days since.
