In the end, the government may have to rush in to support both municipal and high yield bond markets. A failure of either market could set off a domino effect of catastrophic proportions.

What is ironic Is that corporate "high yield bonds," often referred to as "junk," and which are not faring well at this time, may actually survive and bounce back faster than the muni market, which is considered the gold standard of bonds held in many individual portfolios.

States, counties, and cities will not be able to withstand the deep losses in revenue and extreme spending which the COVID-19 virus is creating. Expect difficulty in servicing their debt.

It is early in the ballgame, but at some point even the safest of investments -- state and local municipal bonds -- will start to deteriorate in value.

8/ Again this is just a potential occurrence right now, so keep an eye out for things as they develop.

7/ And as for the financial markets, while any potential move such as this might cause a substantial drop temporarily, if and when the rate of infection levels off, the markets will roar back.

6/ Now is the time to start throttling back. Avoid crowded places and avoid close contact. Stock up, but don’t go overboard as others need supplies too.

5/ Think of it, some European countries are known for taking an entire month off (obviously not everyone) during the summer months. And this will truly helps us in the fight against the spread of Covid-19.

4/ Basically we will he asked to stay home other than to go to the grocery store or pharmacy. I would place he likelihood of this occurring within the next week at 70 percent. This should not create panic but instead be welcome.

3/ Over the next few days we will likely see suspension of domestic travel and strong suggestions that people, other than healthcare workers and those involved in our supply chain of food and medicine, stay home for a period of at least 14 days.

2/ If you listened to the morning news shows you certainly picked up on the theme that lockdowns appear to be the best way of “flattening the curve” of the infection rate.

1/ I have little time to post as I am at a hospital with my mother who suffered a stroke. However this is one post I need to make. You need to prepare now for a potential (and I stress potential) nationwide lockdown.

There's still a possibility Bloomberg may lead in one or two states on Super Tuesday... but basically he's toast. So much money, so few voters. Expect Sanders and Biden to dominate.

Don’t get me wrong, this downturn has a pretty long time to go, but just like in the financial crisis, buying into even a major correction ultimately make you money. Oh, and I want strong dividend stocks when I start buying.

You have to believe the markets and good companies will never get back to where they were not to dip your toe in the water at some point.

And later I’ll be buying the very best companies that have been hit with supply chain issues with China (such as Apple), but not until analysts start to downgrade them, which should be soon.

I did not expect the market to lift today. Now, we have new reports of the #coronavirus developing in other areas of the US. Market futures are down by hundreds of points and this can be expected to continue with ups and downs over the next month at the very least.

Masks are actually most necessary for healthcare workers in hospitals, where there are very few compared to the numbers that may be needed. #coronavirususa #CoronaVirusUpdates
