Frenetic first half. Wales 1-2 Belgium. A half that started with crackle and fizz fell flat. Belgium deserve their lead. Wales have to figure out a plan for Jeremy Doku. He's at the heart of everything.

The stuff of nightmares for Wales and Bellamy. 3-0 down to England after 20 mins. There were concerns around this fixture beforehand, now the scheduling of it feels like a big mistake. Just days before a crucial World Cup qualifier.

Sherratt: “Cardiff is genuinely a club that means a huge amount to me and my family… opportunities in the international game do not come around often and the chance to test myself at the highest level, while returning to a more hands on role, is something I could not turn down.”

Women’s rugby in Wales will take a generation to fix and there are nuances that cannot be captured in a short social media post. Sean Lynn has had a chaotic few months in charge but come Six Nations time, there will be no excuses. He knows that results simply have to come.

A disastrous World Cup campaign for Wales' women ends with a third consecutive defeat this time to Fiji. 28-25. Bonkers game. Elation for a Fijian team who thoroughly deserve it. @ITVWales

Wales need some leadership here. Distress signals going up all over the pitch whenever Fiji start throwing it about. 28-15 down at half time and the Fijians are well worth their lead. Wales have played into a stiff breeze. Big score before the break.

Craig Bellamy's Wales will be taking those three points and running to the airport. A 1-0 win over Kazakhstan in Astana but that doesn't even begin to tell the story. Hosts on top for large parts of the 2nd half. Outstanding performance from 19-year-old Dylan Lawlor on debut.

Wales' Adele Nicoll is hoping to create history in next year's Winter Olympics. She's also a 3 x UK shot put champion. Incredible story and a fascinating chat... @ITVWales @adelenicoll Full feature: https://t.co/JmzNof8iSC

They conclude: “The governance structures outlined by the WRU are not acceptable.” And this is a thinly-veiled warning… “Confidence in our position has been reaffirmed by advice from our expert global-recognised legal consultants.”

Dragons break cover with a strong statement. They say WRU’s case for reducing to two teams is ‘not compelling’. They add that the WRU’s data contained ‘inconsistencies’ and ‘questionable assumptions’. @ITVWales

@MattSouth7 @AsaFoodAndWine My sentiments exactly, on the reduced funding for one or two teams and the impact it will have. Equal funding is the only realistic option for me, but two teams is inadequate, imo.

@MattSouth7 …. Matt… exactly that… it’s why we have poor depth, a poor development pathway and ultimately can’t make the jump …. & look elsewhere for players!

@MattSouth7 @cgroderick Does everyone agree this? Id go unequal funding for 4 but only in the sense that funding should be somewhat tied to output in the way it was pre project reset, it should be possible for a pro team to move from 4th to 1st on funding scale.

@MattSouth7 I would support an ‘unequal’ funding model if it also included moving to the English Prem / Champ. 2 x teams starting in the Prem with more money, 2x starting in the Champ. I don’t really see how it works in the URC.

The view from Scotland, where they cut down to two pro teams in 2007.

@MattSouth7 You need players… as many as possible… so the more teams the more players… why is that a hard calculation for WRU? We in Scotland don’t have the depth… 2 Pro sides is not enough in today’s game… look at the rankings and do the maths!
