In a statement Friday, @massauditor Diana DiZoglio called the House Speaker's rejection of a legislative audit "disappointing," and said she intended to conduct her audit as planned. "We are not asking for permission," she said. via @BostonGlobe

@MattPStout @massauditor @BostonGlobe Great coverage of the legality. But what about the merits? If the public thinks DiZoglio's planned audit has merit, then the Speaker and the Senate President, may not want to challenge the legality. When did lawyering up and reportering up become the same thing, @globeopinion ?

@MattPStout @Karynregal @massauditor @BostonGlobe I would think he would welcome it to show there’s nothing to hide. We need more transparency. We taxpayers want to know where every last dollar is going. We need more of this.
