I wrote this song at a pivotal moment in my journey as a father, a husband and a touring musician. I was trying to please everyone and in turn, failing at all of it. One night I was in such a broken place that I didn’t have it in me to sing, so I just sat the piano and whispered.

Almost a week of Everlasting. Thank you for all of the love you've shown this song. All the different stories I’ve received about what this songs means for them are heartbreaking and continue to remind of how important honesty is in songwriting.

I don’t know what this song will do for anyone who may hear it, but if it finds you in a similar place and provides even a moment of comfort… then it was well worth putting out there.

The lyrics in this song are words I don’t think I could’ve ever been prompted to speak and I don’t believe I could’ve processed these sentiments without the music there to bring them out. I have never written a song that has provided me with so much healing.

I was as honest as I could be with myself about all of the thoughts and feelings I was having no matter how ugly they were. What came from that is a song that reminded me of how powerful music can be.

Boy, you’re such a fool lol

Probably couldn’t tell you exactly when or where this photo was taken but I CAN tell you it’s the artwork for my song “Everlasting”. Coming this Friday.

For some reason, whenever I start to get a little big headed about what I’m doing, there’s always something that happens to give me a gentle reminder that “you ain’t shit”. So to that lady if you ever read this, thank you for wrecking my ego with your explosive breast milk.

The mom next to me pulled out a baby bottle and opened it, and because of the air pressure, it exploded breast milk all over my face, in my book, and in my wine. I was speechless. She apologized profusely, and I laughed it off and assured her it was all good.

One time I was flying from LA to Austin. Hallucinogenics was #1 at alt radio, and I was getting a little “big for my britches” so to speak. I was sitting next to a mother and her infant about an hour into the flight, sipping my red wine, reading a book… vibing.
