How come I have tires on this farm that are 60+ years old that hold air yet and I can’t get a year out of a new one without adding air?

@MattHintz3 Do those old ones have tubes? It seems a constant fight to keep tires aired up!

@MattHintz3 What they're going on probably gets quite a bit more use than what the old ones are on

@josephring4 That’s not the case. 1967 Feeding tractor had original tires on it until a few years ago. The replacements are cracking bad already.

@TheMizzouTiger2 Years?!? I’m lucky to get a months out of farm store batteries. But they replace them free of charge and then I do the same thing 9 months later.

@MattHintz3 New tires need time to cure. The timeline from when they are taken out of the mold to put on a vehicle is now only a couple of weeks most of the time. Used to be months or years.

@MattHintz3 Tires are like windshield wipers. 50+ years of technology advancement and the price doubled and life span of these products cut 60%

@MattHintz3 They don't come with air in them, you gotta add it shortly after installation 🙃

@MattHintz3 The tire company that made the 60 year old tire is out of business cause they only sold you one tire. The new company gets to sell you new tires every couple of years.

@MattHintz3 Old ones were made in America. New ones are made in China.
