You know how old I am?
I turn down 110 ac offered to rent to me on April 29th old.
19 year old me would have been out there with the Metallica cranked on the fender radio of the 560 the next day.
36 yr me, $7.85 beans, $3.34 corn, yeah not sticking my face in that fan!
@MattHintz3
If not a good farm or money not right good choice. But what I have learned at 57 is a good farm can only be had when nobody else wants them
@Trebfarms
I didn’t even discuss money, in this economy and what I’d suspect that farm could produce year in year out there is no way it would have been profitable in these time
@MattHintz3
What kind of land owner gets this far into a season without a renter?
Previous renter not get financing?
Or did somebody walk away because of unrealistic demands from owner? Seems odd to be in that situation.
@TrentMichels
New generation owns the land, I don’t know why they aren’t working with the previous tenant who had it many years either. I didn’t want to get in the middle of some hard feelings there just to add more marginal acres that wouldn’t have worked out financially as well.
@todd_hanten
Show me how 80 bushel corn and 20 bushel beans can work with those numbers I provided for prices. This isn’t the land of milk and honey here.
With the proper weather you could have 2x of half those numbers on that ground as well.
