Software Engineering is the systematic application of engineering approaches and principles to the development of software. Do you want to be a programmer or a software engineer? 🤔.

That moment when you finish your code, it passes all the tests, works as expected, but. you push and the CI build breaks 😑.

Which part of a project do you enjoy the most?. I love to dive into a new domain. Learning everything I can about a business area and how technology can help them thrive is super exciting. Of course, architecture and design mesh in this part too. Greenfield projects are so fun.

One of the best tips when onboarding new team members: Do pair programming. Show first, help them do later. They will feel much more confident to tackle user stories or tickets after that! . What else do you recommend to make the onboarding easier and faster?.

3 Days without coding. Thinking if I remember how to write a lambda function anymore. Better check stackoverflow. .

Simple exercise to check your progress: . Open a codebase you worked on 2 years ago and look for errors and things that can be improved. Then open a codebase you are currently working on and do the same. Do you see big differences? Do you find things you dont like in your code?.

One of the few benefits that 2020 left us was the adoption of remote work for most companies. I have been working full remote for almost 3 years now and it is priceless. You save money. You save time. You gain freedom.

Do you know those addictive videos in which someone builds a pool or a house with a stick and natural stuff?. I have watched a fair amount of them. Does that mean I can build a pool with a stick? No fucking way. The same applies to building software!. 🏗️Projects >>> Tutorials📺.

Some examples, high and low level. Solving reports with DB queries or with code logic. Creating granular and small components and composing them or not. Minimizing side effects? Does your team use tuples? Const?. There is usually a better way to do things, but consistency is🔑.

Everybody knows when code is not simple, but do you know when code is not coherent?. Coherent code is logical and consistent. Same and intuitive approach to solving problems. We don't take diametrical different paths to solve similar problems. Establish guidelines -> Coherence 🔼.

Software Development is very similar to entrepreneur shipment. 🔹 Continues improvement is required.🔹 Several domains of knowledge is needed.🔹 Embracing failure will go a long way.🔹 Rounding yourself with skillful people is key.🔹 It's a marathon, not a sprint.
