Britain has caught up to US productivity before and it can do so again. The answer is simple on the surface: sustain investment in R&D, education, infrastructure, and management efficiency. Israel provides a model of a technology industry we should emulate: deep technology and
The right really needs to grasp this: It is impossible for Britain to now achieve US long term growth rates. The basic infrastructure of 21st C commerce is American: payment systems, e-commerce platforms, web services, advertising, digital production. It all means £££ > 🇺🇸

All the childhood misery, all the economic chaos, all the unchecked medical conditions that took place and have ever since that disgraceful trampling of British liberty could have been avoided. And, who knows? Perhaps my mum would still be alive today. Bastards.

If the Twitter thought police at the time hadn’t deleted my tweets and shadow-banned me for having the temerity to express this very opinion, I’d be RTing them now. All those who shouted the likes of me down: hang your heads in shame.

No. I don’t believe it. It’s a wind up. What?? The Councillor who let Reeves off for being an unlicensed landlord was, himself, an unlicensed landlord and has had to resign his position. Someone please make it stop!
BREAKING: Labour Councillor Michael Situ, Southwark’s Cabinet Member for Housing who decided not to take any action against Rachel Reeves, has himself been forced to resign after being caught committing the same landlord licence ‘blunder’ (via @Telegraph)

Way to provide economic incentives for a carousel of illegal immigration recidivism. Plainly people will come and go and repeatedly collect cheques as they do so. It’s got to the stage where you have to ask whether this government actively trying to bankrupt us now.

Well this is a very lovely piece from @jimw1 in the Telegraph today. If you haven't watched King of Lies: Football's Greatest Con yet, I can (without wishing to appear at all venal) recommend it. It's jolly good. https://t.co/NZ3zqpFzbE

Arsenal legend @SolManOfficial played just one game for Notts County before walking out. He saw through Russell King’s lies, just as I did. He deserved congratulation, not retribution for that. #KingofLies

This. Those of us from the working classes who have achieved success in professional milieux will recognise well, and disdain deeply, this attitude. How very dare they? There are those in the commentariat with whom I used to work who are among its highest priests. Damn them.
After trying to explain to the British establishment—the PMC; the Lanyard Herd; the chattering class; the SW1 bubble; whatever you call them—why there is so much anger afoot, and why it is not due to the "far right" or "Elon Musk's Twitter" or "The Populists", I am now going to

Been sharing this post a lot lately, because it is very important indeed. And here is the proof I am right. This alarmingly unproductive public sector now accounts for almost half of our GDP. Only by freeing ourselves of government waste can we return economic success to Britain.
@gavinesler Think you’ll find, Gavin, that in fact what you’re talking about was Blair’s “reforms” that tore down the institutions built over centuries by Pitt the Elder and Younger, Fox, North, Grey, Disraeli, Gladstone, Lloyd George, Churchill et al, replacing them with a mezzanine level
