Is this not more lucrative for VCU than playing the series? Getting paid $250k for doing nothing ain’t a bad days work for the Black & Gold. In the NIL era…I’ll take it. Future Rams teams getting stronger….

Like, I watched VCU play Butler live in Houston in the Final 4 in front of 70k+. But was that more fun than “The Michael Doles Game” against UNCW on a random week night? Honestly….no 🤷♂️.

And I post that having been to multiple NCAA tournament games. We get so focused on that game and the possibility for a run in that tournament when really a lot of my best hoops memories are from conference play or some random game like a bracket busters win back in the day, etc.

Hot take: Too much attention is paid to NCAA tourney. While this field isn’t likely a huge resume builder for the winner, it does offer up potential for winning multiple bball games (and partying during/after) in paradise. Is that not what this is all about? Enjoy the journey.
The Battle 4 Atlantis bracket is out and Colorado State opens with Virginia Tech. Methinks guard Brandon Rechsteiner will be excited for that. Rams then face Wichita State or Saint Mary’s next.

Had an insane amount of fun this March in DC and that title game was a great one with the best tourney title crowd I’ve seen since my squad joined in 2013. Bring it back to DC soon.
