Trooper Sova of the @MassStatePolice Bomb Squad joined local, state, federal, and international bomb techs at the @IABTI's International In-Service Training Conference. This week of training, collaboration, & information exchange was invaluable for our public safety personnel.

On this date in 1994, 14 members of the Prineville Hotshots, Missoula Smokejumpers, McCall Smokejumpers, and Helitack crew lost their lives battling the #SouthCanyonFire on Storm King Mountain in Colorado. #Remember those made the ultimate sacrifice:

.@MassStatePolice fire investigators and bomb techs assigned to @MassFireMarshal assisted @Wareham_Fire, Wareham PD, and @PlymouthCtyDAO at the scene of a fatal fireworks incident. Illegal fireworks have caused 220 serious injuries and 559 fires in MA over the past five years.

Part of the current construction package at the DFS Bridgewater campus includes paving what was once uneven dirt and grass at the far end of the site. Staff recently spent some time cooling off the fresh blacktop so apparatus could drive on it sooner.

The @MassStatePolice Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to @MassFireMarshal and DFS code inspectors provided investigative assistance and post-blast support for #MashpeeMA FD/PD at yesterday’s explosion. All potential factors identified so far are accidental in nature.

DFS Special Operations staff delivered Rehab 7 to support firefighters and investigators at a tragic fire scene in #WestfieldMA recently. Smoking materials were the most likely cause. These and other resources are always available to support our partners:

#TechRescue Tuesday: The MFA's Tech Rescue Certification Requisite Prior to 2025 course allows FFs who invested in rescue training over the past decade to sit for the written certification exam for certain classes they completed prior to the new Rope Technician pre-requisite.

Happy 9th birthday, AK9 Vasco! This good boy is an ignitable liquid detection #K9 on the @MassStatePolice Fire Investigation Unit assigned to @MassFireMarshal's office. He works with his handler, Lt. Peledge, to sniff out evidence that a fire may have been intentionally set.
