Now that it has been announced that Omicron symptoms are the same as that of the common cold how do we know these tests are not picking up the cold? They are both coronaviruses. And how are the LFTs picking up whether it is

That’s a question I’ve been asking for a few weeks, surely you need to have a blood test to determine which variant you have?

LFTs won't tell you if it's Omicron you'd need a PCR test for that. The LFTs test for certain proteins and therefore they can set it to very specific virus'.

Dammit, man, let me reach out to the world’s top epidemiologists and let them know you’ve found an issue they missed. They’ll no doubt want to send a helicopter to whisk you off for high-level consultations where you tell them how to fix this. Better pack an overnight bag.

I’m on my way out of drop of Omicron; it’s less a cold, and more of a flu with heightened fatigue elements.

Sadly Martin, too many are not asking the same questions. 2 years ago, if we felt ill it was a cold, really ill, flu. Went to bed fir a few days then got on with it. Lots of unanswered questions.
