My main character has OCD. One of his rituals is he keeps a shoelace in his pocket and he’ll pull it out when he’s anxious and tie knots. (Since he’s a surgeon, I thought that would be a good ritual for him.) He also likes to drum or tap his fingers on things.

When Dance is in emotional pain he often feels a need to grab things, like say ‘a sturdy stick.’ He sometimes breaks things if he can't find anything sturdy enough, which might seem strange since he's a gentle healer by nature.

In one WIP, though, the love interest runs his hand through his hair and makes a "huff" noise when he's nervous or embarrassed.

as a grinder, I can tell you it's not. I've worn down the enamel on my teeth, get headaches, and have to wear night guards- and day guards to stop grinding.

Fortunately he isn’t too bad—only when frustrated or trying not to say something he’ll regret. But yeah, maybe it’s a good thing he doesn’t have a dentist to point this out to him… 😅
