This is a charge to all men (and women). Be/get strong(er) every day. This had me thinking and wanting to communicate. Happy Birthday Dad/Papa! .Your 85th was another year of displaying an increase in strength. To God be the Glory.

This brings me to simply say:. Happy Birthday to a man that, although physically slowing, is a profound example of increasing strength. A perpetual bulwark for The Church. A profound shepherd to his church. An inspiration and model to many around the world. Now my stewardship.

How?… by their humility. That does not give us license to be stupid/foolish, but it does give us hope. We are cracked pots, but not useless vessels, in the hands of a Redemptive-oriented God.

Consider two of the “young guys” in the Bible. David and Samson. Both men had significant physical presence, but lacked maturity in many areas. Yet God used them mightily AFTER (not because) they stumbled badly.

“For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again. But the wicked will stumble in calamity.” Prov 24:16.

Abandoning or down-playing this displays selfishness, the exact opposite of God-glorifying. Women are largely nurturing/maternal beings. Men often display their uniqueness in exploration, cultivation, fraternal interactions. We are best when we meet challenges and beat them.

The great expansion of a man occurs/accumulates later in life. The great expansion of a woman is in childbearing and motherhood. The premier manifestations of their respective God-designed persons. This is a symbiotic beauty of marriage. The collective increase.

Over time the portion of each will change (physical/spiritual/mental), but the sum total will be consistently increasing. So much so, that the man of godly faithfulness becomes an indomitable force at the very moment he is physically weakening.

There is strength in our weakness, but it is not BY weakness. In fact, Apostle Paul says: “Be watchful, stand firm (be strong) in the faith, act like men.” 1 Cor16:13.I believe Apostle Paul uses word firm/strong literally & metaphorically.

The world cannot compete with "compounded sanctification". For a man can be mentally strongest while not of physical bounty. “Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” 2 Cor 12:9b. When I am weak, He is strong.

An older man has garnered perspective of which youth cannot attain; it comes by way of long periods of time. This is why daily obedience to God is so richly accruing to good, because it allows the blessings of a life well-lived to grow.

In Yahweh’s economy of human culture's premier assets, a Man of faithfulness and experience (battle-scarred, even injured) is the most valuable to those around him later in life as he accumulated wisdom through prayer, meditation, worship, and experience (hardships/victories).

For decades, Q&A/Baptisms at GCC show amazing work of rightly dividing God's Word to the hearts/minds of massively diverse community. Literal miracles on display. Long-term faithfulness/stewardship of our 'talent' reaps beautiful and joyful results in/among God's people. SDG.

-Dozens of people, young/old, feel safe/comfortable to stand-up in large auditorium, speak into a microphone, their personal query. There is a sense of trust that is evident. -In one evening, many sincere/considered questions from a specific situation to biblical interpretation.
