My friend Chris Fowler died yesterday. Once, around 1992, he took me on a London pub crawl and told me so many fascinating things about the city it would fill several books. I'm so sad he's gone, but he lived a full, amazing life, and that is something to celebrate.

Rereading this excellent collection by Mark Morris (@MarkMorris10). He really is a tremendous writer, working in the English tradition of the ghost and horror story.

13/2023 was Close to Midnight ed. @MarkMorris10. These really are my favourite anthologies - EVERY story and author a banger, and perfect for reading one at a time before bed. Ambition: to make it into one someday.
