An incredible morning in Eskasoni. Our federal government is investing $22.1 million dollars for a new 48-bed long term care facility, creating 70 jobs, and for high speed fibre op internet coverage for the community. Thank you Chief @LeroyDenny87 for friendship and dedication.

It was an honour to announce a $858,000 federal investment into the Cape Breton Community Housing Association today! The building they are transforming will go from what was once a commercial space into a homeless shelter for women, men, and youth, offering 24-hour support.

Across Atlantic Canada, we have seen that immigration is part of our history and has enriched our communities. I visited the Whitney Pier Historical Society Museum to learn about the story of immigration in Cape Breton and how it has helped shape Nova Scotia.

Rodger and I welcomed the Minister of Immigration, @HonAhmedHussen, to Cape Breton today. We had a busy day of meeting with the nearly 800 Sydney IRCC employees, along with a visit to the Whitney Pier Historical Society Museum and the Cape Breton Partnership.
