The excellent, the good and the bad: my review of Song Sung Blue on my podcast which will be released later today. Also, apparently Hugh Jackman and Claire (Thunder) sang Sweet Caroline at the after party at Landmark Lanes last night. Somebody has to have video....

[Fear/Wisdom] There are moments when people speak or act without any fear of God, openly defying His sovereignty. When there is no repentance, terrible spiritual consequences follow—sometimes immediately, sometimes over time. The Lord is a living God who sees the deepest parts

Song Sung Blue US premiere tonight at the Oriental in Milw with Hugh Jackman (alas, no Kate Hudson) in attendance. Opens nationwide Christmas Day. The story of our own Lightning & Thunder. The real Mike and Claire below from back in the day:

Figure this one out: Harvey Kuenn, who managed a team to the World Series but lost, is in. Fred Haney, who managed the team to a World Series twice and won once, isn't in.

Only four Milw pitchers have ever won Cy Young: Spahn, Fingers, Corbin Burnes and Vuke. Spahn and Fingers obviously in and Burnes will be after he retires. Awful Vuke isn't in now. The Buhl omission is an indication of historical baseball illiteracy of some voters

Close call on most outrageous omission. Bob Buhl is third best pitcher in Milw baseball history, going 82-35 between 1956-60. Vuke won the Cy Young Award the only year Brewers went to a World Series. Jim Slaton all-time Brewers wins leader. Mike Caldwell 81 complete games.

Breaking: The Assembly sponsor of the horrid online sports gambling bill (monopoly for tribes with no concessions to state), Tyler August, says he will delay today's vote to next year. Good! Maybe they can improve it by then and stop selling Wis out to 3 anointed tribes

But the legislative backers of this aren't looking out for us. They are doing the bidding of Oneida, Ho-Chunk and Potawatomi

I'm not opposed to online sports betting. But it should not be given to a select monopoly. And if it is, you should get concessions in return (like more money for the taxpayers and dropping opposition to the Kenosha Hard Rock proposal).

The Democrats will vote for the bill because they've been in the sack with the tribes for 20 years. Now the GOP wants to share some of the campaign cash that comes with prostituting yourselves out to a special interest.
