When you visit the pool you may notice a number of tiles missing from the pool floor, don’t worry this isn’t something to be concerned with, this is purely because we have opted to make the area safe to reopen the pool now as opposed to a longer closure whilst repairs are made.

We are pleased to advise that the swimming pool will be open tomorrow (Wednesday 6th October) from 0630 – sessions can now be booked in the normal way.

CALLING ALL MARJON STUDENTS Join our lock-in event on Sunday 17 October. Train in the gym for free. All you have to bring is yourself, suitable gym attire and your Marjon student card Competitions to be held during the event for the opportunity to win prizes RT to spread the word

If you are a member who only uses the swimming pool after the pool has reopened please email us at sportsreception@marjon.ac.uk and we will adjust your account on a case by case basis so you will not lose out on anytime that you have paid for.

We are hoping to have the pool back open on the afternoon of the 6th October and will confirm this nearer to the time.

We will do our very best to minimize disruption and we will provide options for memberships in due course, If you are a pool only user we will ensure you do not lose anytime that you have paid for. We appreciate your understanding during this already difficult time

A specialist contractor will be on site tomorrow to further access the situation therefore we should know more within the next few days. We are also looking at options for a temporary repair if the area effected can be made safe.

This morning we have started investigations into the tiles lifting off the swimming pool floor. There is some sharp edging and grout in the water so the pool cannot be reopened at this time.

At this time we cannot provide details of how long this closure will be for, we are arranging for an urgent inspection of the area effected. We are sorry for the disappointing news, we will be in contact once we know more.

We are sorry to be advising that our swimming pool is currently closed. We have discovered this afternoon a number of tiles have lifted off the bottom of the pool floor therefore we have had to close the pool for health and safety reasons (contd)
