Thousands of severely disabled AISH recipients have no idea how to apply for the CDB and certainly don’t have the $200-$400 for required paperwork. If they don’t do it by Sept. 5th, UCP will fine disabled, low-income people on AISH for failure to do so.

@ABDanielleSmith’s incompetent government is stealing that $200 from AISH recipients (under $23k per year) saying they should be just fine living on AISH at $1,901 per month. UCP are making AISH recipients apply for the benefit so they can reduce AISH. Burning the cushion.

🧵Disability community in Canada worked for years to get a federal disability cushion against poverty. This federal cushion is the new Canada Disability Benefit. It started in July 2025 and gives $200 per month to low-income (under $23k per year), disabled people.
