Organoid session @BSPparasitology kicked off by keynote @GeordieParasit, spreading the good word and talking about how imprints of infection can be seen in organoids from infected and worm-free sheep. Cool work @MoredunComms with @MarcNicolasFab1 and others!

I had the great opportunity to show our project on spatial transcriptomics in farmed ruminants with Moreduns new head of disease control #JoMoore. Our work investigates the spatial effects of infection with mycobacteria avium paratuberculosis and Ostertagia ostetagi in cattle.

Imaging nematodes using their autofluorescence works amazingly well. A 3D rendered Z-stack of an Ostertagia ostertagi adult male beautifully shows the bursa with its two spicules. #nematodes, #parasite
