1/4 kinetochores which in turn ensures optimum dynein mediated stripping of CENP-E thus leading to its stabilization at the aligned kinetochores.

Co-depletion of dynein adaptor Spindly along with CKAP5 showed a significant rescue in kinetochore levels of CENP-E. Altogether, our results suggest a mechanism by which CKAP5 regulates stability of kinetochore attached microtubules and maintains optimum PP1 levels at the. .

CKAP5 depletion leads to increased stability of kinetochore attached microtubules and an associated increase in recruitment of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) to the kinetochores.

We show that the microtubule associated protein CKAP5 is required for the stabilization of CENP-E at the aligned kinetochores during mitosis in human cells.
