Just so we recall, the gap between the litigants is so wide that I do not see any settlement. For instance; Makate believes he is owed R20,2 billion plus interest. Vodacom believes its R10m. The its CEO tried to settle at R47m. This is a gap of more than R20b.

Philip Geissler, former Vodacom head of product development who promised Makate something should his PCM idea take off. It did but Vodacom hasn't paid a cent for almost 20yrs now. Problem is the figure. Who can determine it, Vodacom or courts?

Whoever decided on the judicare system (use of private lawyers by Legal Aid) at this trial has no clue about the unnecessary spending at this trial. By the time it finishes, the state will have paid more than R15m. A cost that could have been avoided. 📸Nompilo Zulu
