Black women make up ~7% of the U.S. population but hold ~29% of all age 25+ bachelor’s degrees or higher. 7% is their share of the U.S. population. So this math gives a proportional ratio. Small population ≠ small progress. That’s sustained excellence.

Their rate of increase over time, which has outpaced many groups in growth, even if their absolute numbers or attainment percentages are behind larger or more advantaged groups matters.
