Ernestine Eckstein was a social prophet who figured prominently in the 1960s gay rights movement—from photos showing her as the only African American woman at the earliest protests, to her trailblazing cover story in “The Ladder.” #LGBTQHistoryMonth 🔊 https://t.co/Wy05mcwHtE

Ernestine Eckstein is an iconic figure from the 1960s homophile movement. In season 4 episode 9, Eric recalled the first time he saw her: "I had no idea who she was. But I’ll never forget the image." #LGBTQHistoryMonth Listen: https://t.co/Wy05mcw9E6

When did ONE Incorporated come into existence? Depends on who you ask. According to co-founder Dorr Legg: “October 15, 1952, in my home.” But fellow co-founder Martin Block cared to differ. #LGBTQHistoryMonth 🔊 https://t.co/kXVMU3lmkp

Phil Donahue RIP. One of the greats. In 1987, shortly after I told my grandmother I was gay (she was 84), she took me on a walk and explained that she watched the "Phil Donahue Show" so she knew that I couldn't change. It gave her comfort to know that Donahue was supportive.

Loved chatting with Robert O’Shaughnessy for his "You May Find Yourself" podcast (YMFY is a podcast about work, career, and finding a path—mine was very winding and occasionally tortured!). Hope you enjoy what you hear! 👇
