A few weeks ago, we made a commitment to be accountable, accessible, brave, clean and busy.
We re-affirm this commitment today, as we swear to be faithful to the Constitution of the Republic and to perform our duties in Parliament with diligence.

GRADUATION 🎓 DAY. When my daughter started her grade 1, I also got myself enrolled with Unisa for a BA Political Science and Economics. Today I get to graduate.
#SpecialMoments
Three years ago I embarked on a journey to get myself an Economics degree after the inspiration from Development Economist Amartya Sen. Yesterday I received my results from
@Unisa
, All subjects passed, Economics degree in the bag. Am proud of myself.
#Hardwork
This is not loadshedding but ROLLING BLACKOUTS. When I was young I was taught that the beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right name. It's Rolling Electricity Blackouts across the country. We need to reclaim the language
ANNOUNCEMENT.
I have today resigned as a Member of the DA and Gauteng Legislature. I will be joining others in exploring the possibility of building an inclusive political alternative that will contest political power in 2024
I have been amazed by the ridiculing of Humanities degrees by some amongst us in the last 3 days. Some even went as far as terming it a simple degree. At the centre of most humanities degrees is a human being. People should not spread lies. Let's make education fashionable
Let me respond to the question of whether am resigning from the DA. I am NOT resigning, the thought has not visited. I am running my own race which I started on my own. Tempting as it might be to follow others, I still prefer to run my own race.
ANNOUNCEMENT: After some reflections of what has been going on in the past few days and running, I have today accepted nomination for the position of
@Our_DA
Interim Federal Leader. I am answering to the call of our activists across the country.
I am officially a Comrade. I came for Bronze, I got a bronze medal. A 10h53. This is a banner that my kids made for me. Thanks for all the support and words of encouragement.
#TheYearOfBigRaces
continues. Now focus is on
#Gana2019
#GanaForGauteng2019
To all
@Our_DA
members, voters and supporters, this is a difficult and tough period for most of us. It's understandable to feel down but we have to continue to represent all South Africans with the best passion we have in ourselves.
I battle to understand why the EFF wants South Africans, especially Black South Africans to be tenants instead of owners. South Africans wants to own the land they live on.
#TheBigDebate
It's happening in our Lifetime. The wheels of Justice are turning. One by one they will sit on these benches and answer for the millions of rands stolen from the people of South Africa. Kubo Hawks. Kubo NPA
#AceMagashule
This morning I visited Hoerskool Driehoek to offer my condolences and the words of the principal and parents I spoke to touched me. We are much better when we stand together instead of attacking each other.
We South Africans do enjoy side debates a lot. The economy is going down, the government is running out of money to deliver basic services, poverty is rising, HIV infection rates still high and more young people are unemployed but here we are debating who funds who. Ja neh!!
To all my fellow
@Our_DA
leaders, activists, supporters and voters, we need to be humble in electoral losses we suffered. This is no time to be arrogant. The voters have humbled us. Not all is lost. Let's stay true to building a One South Africa for All.
#SAElections2019
The last time I took him to the Stadium we beat Celtic 3-1, today we beat Leopards 3-1. Maybe I should take him to the stadium more often.

IT'S A BIRTHDAY!!!
On this day 39 years ago, Gavaza Gana gave birth to a baby boy and he was named Makashule Gana. Am grateful to God for his protection and guidance.
At some point, we must talk about people who are reversing our development by vandalizing and stealing cables from our commuter railway. This speaks to a society that has lost it. Now trains can't move because of this development criminality.
I am a man and I have gender privileges that haven't been extended to women. Accepting and acknowledging the privileges of being a man in South Africa is a step towards building a gender equal society. I can't be going around denying my privileges.
After months of training and early mornings. The day of the first Big race has arrived. Today am running my first ultra marathon.
#TheYearOfBigRaces
#OMTOM2018
It is this growth of
@Our_DA
that scares people to peddling lies. Ours is to be on the ground interacting with our fellow South Africans. Change is coming

His Will has been done. Ku rhandza ka Hosi ku endlekile.
It was a great campaign. Congratulations to
@SollyMsimanga
. All the best.
The journey continues.
It's journalists vs journalists all over the place. A reset button is needed. The only beneficiary will be the crooks and criminals. Sad State of Affairs.
This man, Phil Mohlahlane, the former CEO of Land Bank has been found guilty of looting money meabt for black farmers to buy vehicles. It took time, but finally happened. Next on the list should be Anoj Singh and Matshela Koko
Happy birthday to my daughter, my first born, she who carries my late mother's name, Gavaza Gana. It's been a full decade of fatherhood and being a parent to this princess. She's 10 years.
#ProudFather
I just read this story about residents reconnecting themselves to the power grid after being cut off for non payment, something that is very wrong. People happily pay for DSTV but are hellbent on not paying for Electricity. This culture needs to be changed.
#TheHomeRun
Thank you very much for all the Support. Tomorrow the run starts. Myself and
@SollyMalatsi
will be running from Soweto to Tzaneen to raise R500 000 to assist learners with school uniform, stationery and sanitary towels.
#TheHomeRun
It is starting to sink in. The effort, dedication, discipline and belief it took.
Thank you very much for the support and encouragement.
A cause greater than ourselves.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve invited you here today to announce that I will be putting my name forward as the Democratic Alliance candidate for Gauteng Premier, and to trigger the country’s most important election campaign.
#Gana2019
Land Expropriation needs to happen as per the provisions of the constitution. We need to get one thing clear, people are not landless because of the constitution. It is because of the government that has been unwilling to implement the provisions of the constitution.
This morning I read two important and positive stories in
@BDliveSA
, one by Sim Tshabalala from Standard Bank and Adrian Gore from Discovery, both encouraging us to be positive and pro-SA, not all is lost. We can build SA and create the much needed jobs.
Let me say it, watching this Orlando Pirates team is boring. We only watch because we love the team. I doubt there is a Bhakaniya that likes the football being played.
There's a Zulu word for it, Amanyala
There I said it
The looting and burning of shops in Malvern and Jeppestown needs to be characterized correctly, it is Economic sabotage and terrorism designed to impoverish workers and small business owners. Time to stand up to these bullies
Thank you to all the Delegates at our Federal Council. Democracy won. Congratulations John Steenhuisen. We now go back to the branches. The journey continues.....
Thank you very much for all the messages of congratulations and wishes.
@ComradesRace
2019 is in the bag, now we recover then start working for 2020. I have an amazing brother in
@SollyMalatsi
Today is the official start of the 6th term in the Gauteng Legislature. I just took the official photographs. Looking forward to serving the people of GP through

The destruction of property must be condemned in the strongest possible possible terms. The people responsible for this act of burning police vehicle must face the full might of the Law.
This morning I joined fellow runners for a 42km run in Benoni, Johnson Crane Marathon. The aim was to run a comfortable sub 4 hrs,
@ComradesRace
D seeding but the legs said they can take me to a C seeding. These are the results.
#AddictedRunner
Imagine having as much problems as we have in SA and we busy debating whether the evil system of Apartheid was a crime against humanity in 2020. I guess the beneficiaries of the Apartheid system will never see it as such.
All the best for the weekend Nkokheli
@mbalimcdust
, yours has been an inspiring campaign fueled by courage and compassion. Your contribution to the democratic project of our country is cemented.
Land must be given to the people individually and not to the state guys. The land in the hands of the state does not mean that it is in the hands of the people. Phambili with Individual property ownership!!!
Runner 6812 did complete his third Comrades Marathon, improving his previous down run time by close to 1 hr 28 minutes.
Thanks for all the support.

On this day in 2016, a day before the elections, God blessed me with a baby boy, I named him Makashule. He is 4 years old today. It's been a joy to raise him. A happy birthday to him.
Just to be clear, poor people don't live on brown Bread, Pap, cooking oil, Cabbage alone. There are many items that are essential in the life of a person. Something economists are missing
#VAThike
[WATCH]
@CyrilRamaphosa
lied to the people of South Africa when he claimed in the SONA that the Phuthaditjhaba Industrial Park has been revitalised.
@Our_DA
visited the park today.
#DAonTheGround
@Lesufi
I think we have reached a point where we need to call this by its correct name, it's thuggery and criminal. It's stealing the future of our kids. Arrest the criminals.
To everyone who took time to congratulate me today for graduating with BcomHons in Economics, Thank you very much. To
@unisa
@osipuka
thank you very much for hospitality. It was great to have my young family's support during this journey and to witness the ceremony.
The unholy alliance in Nelson Mandela Bay municipality must now realise that their little theatrics serve no one and allow
@AtholT
to continue cleaning the Municipality and delivering services to the people.
Not being part of multi party charter is the best decision we made for ourselves. Voters can spot the difference. We can never be associated with this kind of thinking.
We Need New Leaders.

Before heading to Winterveldt we made a stop at Luthuli house with fellow
@Our_DA
leaders to hand over Orange Overalls and handcuffs for corrupt ANC leaders. We don't want taxpayers money to be wasted with uniforms

Adv Ngcukaitobi is making some great input to this land debate.
1. Move away from Restitution to Redistribution.
2. Restructure institutions of the state.
3. Close down Land Affairs department.
4. Appoint full time judges to Land claims court.
I am learning a lot.
