We're more than a shelter. We're a community center and a place of healing, and we're about to expand to offer 50 beds for homeless women. We're almost there. Any help you can give is appreciated! .

People argue that no one will access a homeless shelter unless drugs are allowed. That's just not true. Our shelter is 100% full every night. In fact, a study was done in LA by RAND of 500 homeless and 35% said if given the choice, they'd choose a clean and sober. environment.

This isn't a dig on other shelters, but a recognition to our efficiency and the understanding that we run our shelter 100% on private donations. Our shelter is also drug and alcohol free. The only one in the county. You can't bring drugs here. That saves us $ on security too.

At Emmanuel House in San Jose, we shelter 75 homeless men every night. Hot meals, laundry, showers and case management/housing assistance if they seek it. And we do it for 25% less than other shelters in Santa Clara County. @MattMahanSJ @Twolfrecovery @SalvationArmySV
