Last week, we visited Dastak Society for a menstrual justice and hygiene session with survivors and children at the shelter. We shared period relief kits, our period justice comic books, and sustainable pad-making handouts. Committed to doing the work that we do!

How about the state direct attention to where it's due, and not at bulldozing unnecessary constitutional amendments (the 27th consitutional amendment, for instance) through the houses? End period poverty, not the judicial system.

Essential period products in Pakistan are subjected to an overall tax rate of 40% when even flavoured milk (courtesy mega corporations) is categorised as 'essential' under our Sales Tax act, and is therefore, tax-exempt.

Amend the priorities. Not the Constitution. The intervention WE NEED RIGHT NOW is for Period Tax, i.e., get rid of the damn thing! Sign our petition to remove the 'luxury tax' on period products in Pakistan:

Towards the end of last month, our team distributed 100 Period Dignity Kits in Roshan Abad village, Jhudo, 40 kits to young students in Sujawal, and 250 kits to menstruators in two flood-affected villages of District Sujawal. Let’s remember: period care is NOT a luxury.
