Kshatriya Rishi gotra is that of their purohit, used only when performing sacrifices. Doesn't indicate lineal descent. Sometimes, when clans migrate they don't find Purohit of the same gotra/pravara and must change Dharmashastras like AB and Baudhyana compel this
