A pleasure to visit Stewart Av PS. At Stewart the commitment to the Structured Literacy approach & Math Action Plan has had a positive effect on behaviour. Incidents have fallen as students recognize their ability to succeed. Shout out to staff for their commitment & hard work.

At Queen Elizabeth P.S., Math support Megan Chadwick & Gr 1 teacher, Jordan Tummillo used manipulatives, rick-a-racks, games to reinforce number concepts for addition. Students explained their thinking & the skill being used. Wonderful educators empowering learning in math.

A great start to the new year when I visited Preston HS. Making the school a place where all students feel they belong is a focus. Collaborative inquiry evident in Gr 11 Indigenous Studies & Science as well as the ACE class. Student engagement in a positive learning environment.

It was great to be with the Vista Hills P.S. Marching Band in the Santa Claus parade. They had everyone rocking to the beat & will repeat tonight in the Cambridge parade. A BIG thank you to the students, staff & families out to support their children.

Shout out to the amazing staff at Groh P.S. Today community volunteers, the Kitchener Rangers, Sustainable W. R. & Facilities staff worked with students to plant 53 trees for their microforest. Each class will nurture its own tree! Thanks Principal Dowsling for your leadership!
