@RinainDC Try to be educated about weapons. there is no such thing as an "assault" weapon. I could assault someone with a paper bag, or my hands. Think about what you're saying. Take a course, learn the differences. America is a REPUBLIC, not a democracy. Look up the Pledge of Allegiance.

@1776Gretchen BOTH, I can pray for someone's soul and "forgive" them as God forgives us, spiritually. BUT they also have to be held responsible for their crimes. So yes, I believe in punishment and the need to have the criminal taken out of society to protect others.

@coffee_anytime My Dad was born in 1907, he farmed with horses in rural North Dakota. He taught all of us kids the value of hard work and our word. A handshake sealed a deal and you earn it with the sweat of your brow. Also, pardon me, he taught us not to be "a dumb a$$". He was tough/honest.
