As a person who had electroshock 3 days after childbirth, it is not a solution as doctors/psychiatrists are not Gods. What @GeorgeKirov1 refers to as post partum psychosis can be caused by drugs administered during labour and afterwards doctors are often blind to iatrogenic harm

I prefer to call 'ECT' electroshock as it is not therapy- more like torture. As regards studies, it is common sense that the brain damage it causes can have many different adverse effects, and women, especially elderly women, are more vulnerable.

I don't remember the birth of my baby. We were separated 2 days after childbirth. Mother and child deserve to be together. It is inhumane to keep them apart.

That argument positions those who make it (many ECT psychiatrists) completely outside of science and evidence based medicine. “We can’t test it because we can’t withhold something we believe works to find out whether it actually works”
