I appreciated this opportunity to discuss some of the more complicated aspects of writing my book. Gratitude to @marykarrlit whose work inspired the courage to speak and write my own truth and led me toward other contemporary women writers doing the same.

60 years ago, a group of brave civil rights organizers marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama in the pursuit of justice and equality. Today we’re reminded of their courageous sacrifices, and tasked with the responsibility of doing what we can to carry forward

Saw @SingSingMovie last night. If you have not had an opportunity to watch this film, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's a powerful lesson in #empathy. #art

Through struggle and discipline, persistence and faith, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. helped move this country forward. As we honor his legacy today, let’s remember the lesson he taught us: that even in the face of impossible odds, people who love this country can help change it.

Just saw #TheLastShowgirl. Such a powerful film. I'll be thinking about and processing this story for a while. It incites important conversations about women, the entertainment industry, and motherhood in our culture.

Just saw Small Things like These. This film asks some very important questions that continue to be relevant today, and Cillian Murphy is phenomenal in the lead role. I have not read @CKeeganFiction's book that this movie is based on, but I will make that a priority now.
