Wooooo, it's out, it's out!!! So incredibly (+ all sorts of superlatives) happy and excited to have my first 1st author paper published in @hmg_journal talking about #SMA manifestation in mouse embryos. Almost 2 years since I started in the @GillingwaterLab, a great journey! ⬇️

When you're looking for alternatives to Venn diagrams... and a blogpost shows you exactly why it's needed 🤣 Figure from https://t.co/csnqq0zamg (2012) showing the distribution of shared gene families between the banana and 5 other species, I love it! #GetScienced #PhDLife

#ThoughtOfTheDay 🤔💭 what about #LabIsland where you get to live on an island with fancy lab equipment, fancy microscopes, all the resources, discuss experiments with fellow experts on the field - and whichever team discovers exciting new science wins a grant? #PhDChat

Saw this invitrogen ad posted on reddit. Honestly, I’m ok w the idea of blowing up a blot and happily staring at it on an airplane. It’s the fact that he’s wearing a lab coat that kills me.

Complex names for biological assays... Did Google pass the test? Sound on 🔊 A BCA assay (or bicinchoninic acid assay) is a colorimetric technique used to measure the amount of protein in a sample #GetScienced #Labwork #gradschoollife #biology #biomed #googletranslate

Because my lab members are officially the Worst People Ever, today they celebrated the 5th birthday of a set of samples that I put in fixative back in 2014 and have left on the shaker ever since. I swear, though, I can still be useful at the bench.
