In “The Body Keeps Score” I came across the quote, “If you do something to a patient that you would not do to your friends, family or children consider whether you are unwittingly replicating a trauma from the patient’s past.”… makes me think of 4-point restraints in the ED

On my worst of days and hardest of shifts I promise to always advocate for my patients and call out biases. We owe it to our patients, especially those from underserved or marginalized communities.

Suicide as a frontline workers is too common and always heartbreaking. 1:4 first responders have PTSD and 25% of those with PTSD will attempt suicide. Thank you @LeahTatebe for speaking at @CookCountyEM bringing more awareness of PTSD in first responders and self compassion.
