Midwife ✨ Personal Trainer 🤸♀️Finding my home in Scotland after living abroad all my life. Love maps, sushi and munro bagging.

When the woman's partner answers the door and says "Hi Mairi, oh we were hoping it would be you!" 🥰🥰 their first postnatal home visit and I hadn't seen them since 22 weeks due to pregnancy complications. Really do love my job!

Happy for one of my women, she was told her baby was transverse & she would have to be admitted from 37w and there was nothing she could do. Sent her resources, got her on her birthing ball, showed her some exercises and baby's now head down and she's back on the green pathway!

Last day with my fantastic first year student Cara! Can't wait to work with you again in the future. Compliments from women and their families included asking if she was almost finished her training and a couple box of chocs 👏🏻

I'm so proud of our AMU's, a huge amount of work has gone into the set up. I've had some great feedback from my postnatal women, citing the relaxing environment and use of the birthing pool. As a community MW, I will continue to promote them and the benefits of being MW led!
🌺 It’s International Day of the Midwife.🌺 Watch as our amazing midwives take you through our tranquil Alongside Midwife Units, available now at the Princess Royal Maternity and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Maternity.

I love my job and am passionate about midwifery care, particularly continuity of care. I don't do it for gifts or recognition, but this hits me right in the feels 🥹❤️

As a midwife in Glasgow, this report hits hard. We NEED to do better!
1/3: Today, we're pleased to present our 'Birth Outcomes & Experiences Report'. Analysing the childbirth journeys of 100 people we've supported, it sheds light on practice issues, discrimination, communication barriers, and high intervention rates in NHS maternity care. 1/3

So sorry to read this :( i loved having medical students watching births I helped to facilitate on LW. It felt important to show vaginal births! Women were often very happy to consent.
Current medical student - told to ‘f off’ by midwives and stop stealing cases when all they wanted to do was sit there and watch a vaginal delivery 🤯

Very much enjoying having a keen, enthusiastic and inquisitive first year student with me in community. The days fly by when you are having fun 🥰 Love to see students having the same passion for midwifery as I do!
