Telling your husband where you are going before leaving home does not in any way lower your Status. Rather, it shows how respectful and caring you are to your husband!. Plus the fact that, that is how Allāh commanded you (as a wife) to relate with your husband. ©Aksod.

To add, it should put to question the integrity of someone who isn't true to their beliefs to please you, if they can do that to their "god", they can do worse to you, as they are insincere. As a human, na wahala, if anyone can't be true to their beliefs by watering it down.
