6/ Models – Using a mix. Claude 3.7 is still the workhorse. But Gemini is catching up - .I’ve seen it handle complex coding tasks with cleaner solutions. The interesting thing is that I’ve stopped using OpenAI's models at all.

9/ Focus on paying users. This one was a bit unexpected:.Don’t focus on growing your user base. Focus on growing paying users. Once I shifted to that, everything else grew too. I think it’s because paying users are emotionally invested. They’re more likely to spread the word.

8/ B2C churn can be scary. Coming from B2B, the numbers freaked me out at first- .but it’s just part of selling to the masses. My advice: make sure your product leaves a strong , good impression. Many users don’t need your product *right now*-but you want to be the first thing.

3/ Database – @MongoDB.Flexible, no migration hell like SQL. Once you’ve built proper infra on top, it’s so much fun to work with. Had some early performance issues, but most were my fault. Pro tip: don’t EVER try to scale on shared virtual CPUs.

5/ Influencers.A lot of founders try to get the “big shots” in their industry. Those with the most followers who can turn you to an overnight success. If you’re VC funded - it might work. If you’re not, my advice would be - focus on smaller accounts.

When I started Base44, I was deleting features almost as fast as I was building them. Before you have hundreds of users, it's really hard to know what’s important. These times, when building is that easy, the old “validate before building” playbook is irrelevant anymore IMO.

Outcome still heavily depends on the prompt. A prompt that’s just 2x better can lead to a design that’s 10x better. Thinking through ways to solve this. maybe we should automatically improve user prompts from a design perspective.
